Our client is a large UK based Engineering company who were established over 100 years ago. They have three sites in the UK and have a requirement to appoint a Design Engineer for one of their sites based in Leeds

The Position:

We’re looking to appoint a Design & Manufacturing Engineer who will contribute heavily to the current design needs as well as one eye on the development and future growth of the Design & Manufacturing team and other business needs.

This position will suit an individual who will bring a wealth of experience to the role in which an team could be built around them or a hungry, enthusiastic graduate looking for the next step in their careers.

Requirements / Competencies:

  • Use initiative and judgement to make decisions and solve problems that are sometimes complex
  • Manage own time effectively
  • Communicate effectively within a team and internally at all levels
  • Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 2 year’s experience in product development.

Interest, experience and knowledge of trains and train components, including bogies and couplers.

Responsibilities:

  • To work methodically on product development.
  • To maintain control of all development projects.
  • To produce detailed models and drawings depending upon requirements.
  • To take specific responsibility for key projects.
  • To develop customer and supplier relationships and act as technical focus to the customer during development programmes.
