A requirement for a Senior Design Engineer for one of their sites based in the North East has arisen due to increase in business and a surge of recruitment on site – the role is a Full time permanent role, working 38 hours per week typically.

The Position:

We’re looking to appoint a Senior Design Engineer who will be customer/client focused and aware, to contribute heavily in terms of R&D, projects and liaising with the relevant departments within whilst also overseeing the design team.

This position will suit a driven, experienced senior Design Engineer looking to challenge themselves within a fast paced and exciting environment with the vision of development opportunities within the role moving forward.

Requirements / Competencies:

As a suitable candidate, you will hold a technical qualification in a mechanical discipline and demonstrate clear evidence of a significant level of technical competence, responsibility and professional conduct.

  • communicate openly and well to ensure that any design issues are dealt with efficiently and effectively
  • ensuring a high level of accuracy is present in all design output
  • Accuracy and attention to detail must be a particular strength as you will be writing and reviewing procedures and processes on an on-going basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring full compliance, during all engineering and related activities
  • Producing economic engineered solutions, considering all aspects from materials to manufacturability
  • Liaise with suppliers on technical and engineering matters.
  • Generating, checking and authorising designs, reports, instructions, procedures, specifications, calculations, and drawings, to ensure a high level of accuracy and credibility in the documents supplied by the design department.
  • Liaising with clients and suppliers
  • Providing technical support to other departments and providing training/coaching of other members of the design team to ensure high standards of technical competence.
  • Providing technical support for issues within the factory for manufacturing/design
