Job Description of a Project Purchasing Manager
The postholder will be responsible for steering of global project activities and alignment with the strategic commodity purchasing department and the regional project teams.
Track global costs and timings, align global vs. regional content/parts & volumes for RfQ based on R&D & production/product footprint and support the strategic commodity purchasing department to identify global sourcing opportunities in line with the product strategy.
Coordinate global cost saving projects between regions, facilitate ideas and best practice sharing within the product group across regions (e.g. VAVE project, resourcing, change management).
Support and align the global commodity strategy definition and execution.
Lead global meeting for steering and promote VAVE and resourcing projects.
Contributes to supplier negotiations with the strategic commodity purchasing department, provide leverage for negotiation.
Skills & experience of a Project Purchasing Manager
Experience from the automotive supply chain is an immediate advantage for this role and a pre-requisite would be exposure of working strategically at group level.
The successful candidate will be ambitious, self motivated and be very robust. Have demonstrable experience with best cost country sourcing, have worked to tight deadline and in a pressurized environment before.
Expect a lot of worldwide travel with this position.
